Lost Toys

In this remote learning activity, the shopkeeper explains that some of his best toys have gone missing! The shopkeeper will list and describe the toys for the children, showing them the parts of The 1900s Town where they think the toys may have gone missing.

Home Sweet Home Remote Learning Activity

Children will be welcomed into Pit Cottage No. 5 on Francis Street in The 1900s Pit Village where they will have the opportunity to see artefacts that tell the story of life in the cottage. 

Life in the Infant Classroom

What was school like if you were five or six years old in the past? Discover the games of the playground and try out an infant lesson in the kindergarten.

Pop to the Shops

Children will immerse themselves in the past by taking part in a shopping activity in The 1900s Town. They will have to set off around the town with a shopping list and a purse of money and purchase goods from different shops.

Once Upon A Time

Find out about traditional tales in a real, historical setting. Children will meet generic fairy tale characters within an atmospheric setting whilst taking part in activities that link to range of well known tales.
