The museum offers the opportunity for schools and youth groups to camp overnight.
Camping at Beamish Museum offers a unique opportunity for children to experience visiting the museum both when it is open and when it is closed!
Duration:Â 2 days, 1 night
We can help plan your visit, and a typical camping experience involves:
Day 1 – arrival and settle into camp, before setting off to explore the museum for the day; it’s tea-time and a fish and chip supper will be served in our very own Davy’s Fried Fish Shop; after tea, children can take an evening walk, play games, sing camp fire songs, tell stories and enjoy a delicious hot chocolate before bedtime!
Day 2 – after an early morning rise and breakfast, the group will pack up before 10am, ready to explore the museum for a second day when it opens at 10am. You then have the full day to enjoy the museum before home time!
Target Age:Â Key stage 2 and 3
Cost:Â
Groups of 20 to 35 children – £50 per child; Groups of more than 35 children – £45 per child
We offer one free adult place for every five children to help facilitate the visit (additional adults are charged at £28 per adult).

Why not enhance your visit by adding learning activities to your package or a packed lunch on Day 2 (price on application)?
Tents can be provided (subject to availability/number camping), but equipment such as sleeping bags and mats must be brought by the school/children.
