Best Foot Forward Walking Group is a short, inclusive and dementia-friendly walk (approximately 1–2 miles) around the museum grounds. We take a relaxed pace, stop regularly to rest, and enjoy the changing scenery. Routes vary week to week.

Time
Walk runs 11am–12/12.30pm. Meet at the main museum entrance at 10.45am. While the museum is closed on a Monday, we will meet everyone at the Eden Place Car Park at 10.45am. We will escort everyone on site from there. The address is: Eden Place Picnic Area, Station Road, Stanley DH9 0RE.
Location
Around Beamish Museum grounds. In poor weather, we may stop for a warm drink at Clover Cottage.

The Health and Wellbeing Team at Beamish Museum supports adults, regardless of age, health needs or abilities, by offering opportunities to enjoy the museum, take part in traditional activities, learn new skills, build confidence and, most importantly, enjoy the company of others
As part of Dementia Action Week, Beamish Museum hosted a programme of inclusive activities designed to raise awareness of dementia, support people living with dementia and celebrate dementia-friendly communities.
The Men’s Group is a small, welcoming weekly group where men can socialise, take part in hands-on activities and support their mental wellbeing in a relaxed and friendly environment.
Our volunteers are a valued part of the Health and Wellbeing Service. They help us create welcoming, safe and supportive spaces where people can connect, learn new skills and improve their wellbeing.
Framing It Differently was part of the national ENLIVEN research programme, which explored how outdoor environments and nature-based experiences can support the wellbeing, independence and social connection of older people living with dementia or cognitive impairment.
