By joining the Friends of Beamish, you’ll be helping to secure the future of The Living Museum of the North for future generations. The Friends have donated £887,000 since founding in 1967, helping museum projects such as Hetton Band Hall and Eston Church and buying Model T Fords.

Your subscription will also go towards restoration work carried out by the Friends of Beamish.

Some of our Friends of all ages volunteer their time to help the museum. You can be a Friend of Beamish without being a volunteer, but if you’d like to get involved you’d be made very welcome.

There are lots of ways to help, from using practical skills to restore vehicles and equipment, wearing costume in exhibits or at events, or providing admin support.

Join the Friends of Beamish at our main Entrance or online. We encourage members to join the Friends of Beamish online before visiting to save time at the Entrance and help support our Entrance Team staff.  If you are unable to purchase online beforehand, you can join or renew at the Entrance when you visit.
