If you want to take home a reminder of your visit, you can purchase unique Beamish items and souvenirs in our Museum Shop at our Entrance, as well as Jubilee Confectioners, Herron’s Bakery, 1950s toy shop and our stalls in The 1900s Town.

 

Places to shop

1900s Town Stalls

Browse traditional products ranging from tea, coffee and biscuits to items handprinted in our Eagle Press Print Works including cards, bags, calendars, posters and notebooks. You’ll also find unique souvenirs featuring exclusive 1900s Town designs such as postcards inspired by originals in our collections, enamel signs based on the Beamish businesses, coasters, magnets and mugs. There are also traditional toys and games available, based on those you would find in Edwardian Britain, as well as a wide range of bespoke stationery.

Jubilee Confectioners Sweet Shop

What will you choose from the mouth-watering range of traditional sweets? From Beamish mix to bonbons and cinder toffee to strawberries and cream, it’s difficult to decide! You can even see sweets being made.

Romer Parrish Toy Shop

Shelves are stacked with colourful 1950s-themed toys which visitors are able to buy. The shop also features toys from the museum’s collections, and in the dolls’ hospital, visitors can see broken dolls being repaired.

Entrance Gift Shop

From fabulous local food and drink to a wide range of homeware, toys, books and lots more, there’s something for everyone at our fantastic Museum Shop.

The Beamish Emporium in Prince Bishops Place Shopping Centre, Durham city centre. Customers can discover the immersive Beamish experience; browse traditional Beamish gifts and souvenirs, including sweets and toys; see museum collections and take part in hands-on activities

Well-behaved dogs are welcome in the outdoor areas of the museum, but there are restrictions on the indoor spaces they can access.

Beamish Museum is an open air museum spanning over 350 acres. We aim to be open rain or shine but, as we are an open air museum, that does mean the weather can play a big part in your visit.
